I have just now, a couple hours ago, started to install the “Ubuntu Netbook Remix edition”. To do this I used a USB 2.0 HDD, because I currently do not posses empty CD/DVD.

So I pulled the 120GB SATA drive out of my HP dv9205ca and loaded Ubuntu 9.04 on the T60… I Just needed access to web anyway and I knew that 9.04 would pick up the Wi-Fi easily enough.
Googling “eeepc linux install” quickly leads me to forum.eeeuser.com and thence to installing Ubuntu, which I seem to remember is claimed to be the most idiot-proof flavour of Linux.
