Confessions of an Ubuntu Fanboy

Hi, my name is Jim and I’m a recovering Ubuntu fanboy. The Urban Dictionary defines a fanboy as “a person who is completely loyal to a game or company regardless of if they suck or not.” More here

Let me be clear, I’m still a huge fan of Ubuntu. I still think Linux is the best operating system on the market today, and that Ubuntu is a great choice for most people’s desktop computers. What I’m saying today is that I no longer want to be a fanboy!

I think that is better to use your OS as a tool and not as a Psychology Counselor. I understand that you are in love with your machine and when it betrays you, after you feel bad…and so on. The problem is that Ubuntu is a tool, like scissors, screwdriver etc. Any relation, more than plain use, is bizarre. Just use it because its better than Windows and Mac and forget the intimate relationship….you’ll feel better.
