Cloned Distro’s: Why Ubuntu sucks and should be banned

To write it down clearly: I don’t like clones. There are too many distro’s out there as it is. Over the last years I have had many people ask me: I have tried Distro X, Y and Z, can you help me? Well, it’s an opinion

Reason 2: Unstable

Clones are unstable as they usually change those areas where their mother distro are stable and they are several steps removed from mainline where the code actualy gets developed. Ubuntu for example uses the unstable Debian branch and their developers hack around in what has become a nightmare of a package web.
